Overview
GitHub Colors is a browser extension that allows users to customize the color scheme of their GitHub contribution calendar grid. This privacy policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding that data.
Data Collection
What We Store
The extension stores only the following data locally on your device:
- Your selected color preference (a hexadecimal color code, e.g., "#2da44e")
- The generated color palette (5 hex color codes) associated with your selected color
This data is stored using Chrome's chrome.storage.sync API, which means:
- The data is stored locally in your browser
- If you have Chrome Sync enabled, it will sync across your Chrome instances
- The data is encrypted in transit and remains under your control
What We Don't Collect
This extension does NOT collect, store, or transmit:
- ❌ Personal information (name, email, address, etc.)
- ❌ Health information
- ❌ Financial or payment information
- ❌ Authentication credentials or passwords
- ❌ Personal communications
- ❌ Location data (GPS, IP address, etc.)
